On Saturday, 6 November 2010, the Piedmont Air Force JROTC Drill Teams did it again, taking First Place in the Warriors and Warbirds Drill Competition. The Teams consisted of members from both Piedmont and Porter Ridge classes, giving outstanding performances in Armed and Un-Armed Fancy and Regulation events in the Individual, Element, and Flight categories. Once again, NC-955 showed them, they are “simply the best.â€
Additionally, the Patriot Award was presented to Cadet Lieutenant Colonel Laura Tadeo and Cadet 1st Lieutenant Alexis Arellano. The award is presented for patriotism, leadership, community service, and academic excellence. Congratulations to our Top Cadets.
The event also honored veterans and their contributions to our country. During the opening ceremonies, Mayor Bobby G. Kilgore and Brigadier General Wilfong recognized and honored the many veterans in attendance, and reminded everyone of the significance of Veterans Day. They encouraged veterans to tell their stories, and also reminded us to thank the many veterans who sacrificed so much for our freedom.
